John Gabbard, CPA
After obtaining his undergraduate degree in Accounting at Furman University and Master’s degree at the University of Virginia, John started his career at a Big 4 accounting firm in Tax before moving into the Advisory group. John left public accounting after 8 years to serve as CFO of a SaaS company in the Upstate. He then served as CFO of a private-equity backed, growth focused start-up overseeing 16 acquisitions in two years and revenue growth from $3M to >$60M. He left this role to get back to where his career began and founded a public accounting firm, Green Shade CPA. Outside the office John enjoys spending time with his wife and (corralling) his three young children and dog, TJ.

Matthew Bostick, EA
A Furman graduate and seasoned EA, Matt is an expert in all things tax. He serves small businesses and individuals in the Carolinas providing detailed and accurate tax advise throughout the business lifecycle. Matt’s industry expertise is very broad as well as his skills and expertise. Matt is very involved in the community serving in many local organizations. He also loves his time with family.

Cole Kallenberger, tax Manager
Cole is an experienced tax professional with an undergraduate degree in Accounting from Bob Jones University. He started his career at a Big 4 accounting firm, where he gained two years of experience specializing in financial services tax, with a particular emphasis on partnership taxation. Currently, Cole is actively pursuing his CPA license. He joined Green Shade in the summer of 2025 and is passionate about helping individuals and small businesses with their tax and accounting needs. Cole lives in Greenville with his wife and their dog, Remington.
Cheryl Shiflett, EA
As a Southern Wesleyan University Accounting and Tax graduate, Cheryl works hard to help small business owners thrive. Cheryl has over 30 years of providing financial and tax advisory services to her small business and individual clients. Her areas of focus are on business transition and generational planning, entity expansion, and tax advisory services. She serves all types of businesses and business owners across the Carolina’s and has specific focus with restaurants, home services, and professional services small businesses. Outside the office Cheryl loves spending time with her family and friends and cooking delicious meals.
Bud Branyon, CPA
Bud has been a licensed CPA for over 30 years, serving individuals and small businesses with a focus on practical, accurate, and trusted tax solutions. After graduating from Erskine College, Bud founded his own practice and has built a long career helping clients navigate the complexities of tax and accounting. A Honea Path resident, Bud combines his professional expertise with a deep connection to the local community. When he’s not working with clients, Bud enjoys life on his farm and spending time outdoors.
